Energy Production & the Environment

Recognizing the significant economic constraints facing many individuals and families, I propose a balanced and collaborative approach to energy and environmental solutions. I understand that expecting immediate, widespread adoption of expensive green technologies is unrealistic. Therefore, our plan centers on strategic partnerships at the local, national, and international levels to drive innovation and make clean energy solutions accessible and affordable.

National Collaboration for Affordable Solutions:

 * I will launch a "Twenty-First Century Moon Shot" program, uniting government, industry, and academia to prioritize research and development in key areas that directly impact affordability:

   * Cost-effective advanced carbon capture and sequestration.

   * Next-generation, affordable battery storage.

   * Fusion energy research to provide long term affordable energy.

   * Advanced geothermal and solar technologies.

 * We will incentivize private sector investment through targeted public-private partnerships and tax credits, focusing on technologies that lower costs for consumers.

 * We will prioritize short-term goals, such as incentivizing the development of more efficient and affordable engines and power plants, and also developing sustainable fuels.

Local Implementation with Economic Sensitivity:

 * We will support local initiatives that integrate renewable energy with existing land use, such as solar-agriculture projects, while ensuring environmental protection and minimizing economic burden on local communities.

 * We will prioritize responsible siting of renewable energy infrastructure, compensating landowners for any necessary restrictions, and protecting wildlife migration, while ensuring that the cost of these projects does not unduly burden local taxpayers.

 * We will empower local communities to participate in the energy transition, providing access to affordable clean energy solutions.

International Cooperation for Shared Economic and Environmental Goals:

 * We will actively participate in global partnerships to share research, technology, and best practices, focusing on solutions that are economically viable for all nations.

 * We will engage in international agreements to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable energy solutions, ensuring that these agreements do not place undue economic hardship on individuals.

 * We will collaborate on joint research projects to address shared environmental challenges, prioritizing solutions that are both environmentally sound and economically feasible.

This collaborative framework will ensure a pragmatic and effective transition to a clean energy future, balancing economic realities with environmental imperatives, and prioritizing affordable solutions for individual consumers.
