Civil Rights - General Principals

“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; and that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” Any law, regulation, or practice that restricts an individual's ability to pursue these rights contradicts the fundamental principles of American freedom. As a society, we must persist in our efforts to ensure that individuals are free to be themselves and live according to their own desires. To achieve this, we will focus on:

 * Ensuring equal protection under the law for all.

 * Vigorously defending fundamental freedoms, while considering public safety.

 * Addressing systemic barriers that impede individual rights.

 * Promoting laws that prevent unjust discrimination.

By upholding these principles, we strive to create a society where all individuals can fully exercise their inherent rights and freedoms.
